Tends machine that spreads knit tubing from $T3rope form$T1 to full width and winds it into rolls preparatory to further processing: Pulls knit tubing over spreader and wraps end around $T3takeup roll.$T1 Starts machine and observes cloth to detect splices. Stops machine and separates joined ends, using shears, or by raveling seams with fingers. Lifts roll out of machine.
